USTTI AND SCOLA 2008- A UNIQUE LEARNING EXPERIENCE

I am extremely grateful to the organizers and sponsors of this wonderful vision of bringing all cultures together to share and learn about each other's cultures. I salute the founder for such a dream and pray for his longevity. I deem my participation in this programme very timely and useful because I could be helpful in many ways in advising my organisation and a couple of other agencies to adopt these new technologies to increase access of lots of people in remote parts of the world to long distance learning via satellite technologies and other options such internet, etc. SCOLA is doing a great job and we are extremely grateful to all the team. All of you are great and we pat you on the back for this wonderful learning environment. I am touched by the readiness every member of staff wants to help with our projects and to make us get the best of our stay here. I have learnt many things here in SCOLA - notable amongst them are; the various departments and their functions, the historical perspective to the whole set-up, some basic library and archiving stuff, capturing video and editing using Final cut and Quick time, scanning newspapers, trimming in Adobe Reader, the Satellite uplinking and construction, etc. For the first time, I learn to work in linux platform also. I am excited at the prospect of having to produce many cultural programmes for SCOLA when I get back home because that's what I love to do......Well, I also really enjoy the tons of  'teasing' that goes on everyday, may be, over 1000 gigabytes of teasing, may be, but I love it so much. It keeps the tension down. You are all wonderful people and we just dont know how we can thank you for all these exchanges of knowledge.

hi John

Well, I am fine and doing well. I guess we are geared towards becoming part of this wonderful learning environment of technology and skills for two weeks which started on the 27th May 2008. The staff is so supportive. Everybody in SCOLA is trying to do their bit to teach what they know and can do better. I am amazed at the warmth and oneness of the workplace unity of purpose. I have learnt so many things already. SCOLA is one of the best centres of excellence in the world and I will recommend it to all to come and feel it. There's no two ways about it.
