Activity: Visit to the Omaha Public Schools with Leslie

Lessons/Observations: The turn out of Language teachers was good and we were given a warm welcome. Leslies presentation impressed the teachers and many questions were asked on how best to utilize the SCOLA webite as an AID to teaching Language classes. Learnt some marketing tactics such as giving out brochures and some small free gifts. SCOLA website and functionality was further understood.

Activity: Project production; Video capturing and editing demo.

Lessons/Observations: Introduced to the versatile video editing room. Video can be captured from both Analog and Digital formats wheter it be on VHS tape, MiniDV tape, DVD, MiniDVD or ther formats. Analog signals are fed into a digitizing device (forgot the name) which in turn feeds into a dedicated apple computer which has software to capture video as it plays back. The captured video has 1 video and audio sequence. After the video is captured it can then be edited in case there are picture or audio problems for broadcast purposes. The file can then be saved in MPEG4 format using the options optimized for wecasting. Hands on practicce to be  done next day.
