Today we did uplink operations. Dawn and Jeremy made lectures on how broadcasts from the different satellites are recorded and reviewed. Jeremy toured us to the logging system that SCOLA is using whenever tapes and DVDs arrive. The logging system takes a lot of time though.... from assigning a number to logging them to the proper country location. I wish that SCOLA will be able to come up with a computerized logging system wherein in a fiscal year, numbers can be generated automatically and each tape and dvd that come along will just have stickers on time and can be read by barcode readers .
The afternoon was spent with Ric explaining to us the back end operation of digital archiving. This made me realized that in order to really develop a digital archive, several softwares and programs should be used. This gives me an overview on how to undergo our own digital archive in school. The knowledge that I got through the lecture is really a great help and it is something that my colleagues back home will appreciate.
Thank you to Spencer, for taking the effort to contact his bank and we were able to change our checks into cash.
